About Australian International School Malaysia (AISM)
The Australian International School Malaysia (AISM) offers Australian education taught by highly qualified international teachers, predominantly Australian trained and experienced. The Australian curriculum offers seamless transition into education pathways in Australia and provides an international qualification recognised by top universities around the world. Growing steadily over the years since its inception in 2000, the school caters for children from age 3 (Pre-school) to age 18 (Pre-University). Located in a secure gated community in Seri Kembangan, AISM overlooks the picturesque South Lake of Mines Resort City, a short drive from Kuala Lumpur City Centre. The school houses its Junior, Middle, and Senior schools on one campus and has students represented by over 25 different nationalities.
The school was recently recognised as the first Certified Visible Learning School in the world. Visible Learning is an evidence-based approach to teaching and learning developed following the largest research into teaching ever undertaken. The students and teachers share a common language of learning, where learning intentions and success criteria are clear, feedback is valued and self-assessments for improvement are constant. As a result, students are adaptable and effective communicators, collaborators and creative thinkers.
Since 2013, AISM is one of 522 accredited Council of International School (CIS) member school and is the prestigious 5-Star School awarded for Private by the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE).

Pre-University
Preschool/Kindergarten
The Early Learning Centre (ELC) aims to provide a warm, secure and stimulating preschool environment for children aged 3-5. Using the Australian Early Years Learning Framework and the Reggio Emilia Philosophy, students are exposed to a variety of learning experiences.
The Reggio Emilia Approach presupposes that a child’s personality is formed during the early stages of childhood. AISM encourages children to express themselves through their ‘100 languages’, and build relationships with the community as well as the environment around them.
The approach focuses on child-centred, inquiry based learning, where children learn through real life and hands-on experiences. Learners are given rich opportunities to explore, discover and construct knowledge through many different modes of learning to deepen their own understanding.
Each child’s learning is documented every step of the way, shared daily through digital means and classroom displays. AISM aims to create ‘meaningful conversations’ between the child, the parent and the teacher. By doing this, a valuable learning link between school and home is provided, supporting their growth as lifelong learners.
