In December 2017, Prince of Wales Island International School observed Mental Health Awareness Week and held several activities to improve mindfulness - the psychological process of bringing one's attention to experiences occurring in the present moment.

Students and staff were encouraged participate in activities such as qi gong, mandala colouring and practising mindfulness through blowing bubbles, Zumba and food tasting.
