During one of our recent International Primary Curriculum (IPC) projects, our Year 5 students embraced good struggles in their IPC topic: Fairgrounds. It started with an investigation on bouncing balls to find out the relationship between forces and movement. Then, they conducted an experiment on measuring forces with a Newton meter to support their hypothesis on the weight and force needed for movement.

After that, they took on a challenge as a group to build a marble roller coaster. It was definitely challenging at first to figure out how much height was needed and other factors for the marble to run through the loop. It was great seeing how persistent and resilient the children were that they wanted to try again the very next day after a few trials and errors. TRIED THEY DID AND SUCCEEDED the mission! Hopefully, their resilience continues for the rest of the IPC project.

Project by project, our students gain a deeper understanding through active exploration of real world challenges. They learn to effectively collaborate and communicate by connecting their ideas across a wide variety of skills and topics. Our dedicated teachers are at hand to help your child grows into keen problem solvers, taking risks and responsibility for their own personalised learning journey.
